Goldcoastfc.com.au have put together ten facts so that you can get to know our new Senior Coach, Stuart Dew.

1. Dew made his playing debut for Port Adelaide in 1997 and went on to play 180 games for the Power.

2. At the end of the 2006 season, Dew announced his retirement after ten seasons at Port Adelaide, earning him Life Membership status.

3. Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson, who was previously an Assistant Coach at the Power, lured Dew out of retirement after a year off. He was eventually selected with pick 45 in the 2007 National Draft.

4. Dew's second playing stint ended after the 2009 season, having played 26 games for the Hawks.  

5. Of his 206 career games, 120 were victories.

6. Dew tasted the ultimate success twice as a player, once for Port Adelaide (2004) and again for Hawthorn (2008).

7. After sealing the 2004 Grand Final, Dew revealed in an interview he nearly did not make it to the MCG after almost being hit by a taxi that morning.

8. In 2002, Dew took out Port Adelaide’s leading goal kicker award with a haul of 51.

9. He joined the Sydney Swans coaching staff in 2010, where he was an Assistant Coach for the 2012 Premiership side.

10. In 2013, Dew married Seven News reporter and presenter Sarah Cumming. They are parents to two youngsters, Frankie (5) and Jack (1).
