The countdown to Gary Ablett’s 300th AFL game reminds us of the Little Master’s ability to ignite a raw passion in the hearts of fans.

As a champion midfielder, across the country fans young and old have fond memories of watching Gary Ablett Junior and often his father Gary Ablett Senior play the sport we know and love.

When young eyes gaze on the dazzling moves of Ablett, accompanied by the likes of captains Tom Lynch and Steven May, their love for AFL and the Gold Coast SUNS begins to grow.

One such fan is Floyd.

Heralding from Victoria, Floyd’s late father was a passionate Saints fan and in the early years his mum Anita encouraged the budding fan to follow in these footsteps.

At the tender age of three, however, a determined Floyd made the decision to support his own team, and his passion and dedication for the Gold Coast SUNS was born.

Since then Floyd’s love for the SUNS has flourished as he proudly supports the red and gold. He’s even has SUNS themed birthday parties, complete with a Gary Ablett cake (kudos to the chef on that one).

In recent weeks the 8-year old has channeled his enthusiasm for the SUNS into arts and craft, with outstanding results.

Floyd’s message to the boys for this weekend as we celebrate #Gaz300- GO SUNS!
