The Gold Coast SUNS will welcome back some polish and class for a huge clash against St Kilda at Metricon Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The club enter round 15 as narrow favourites on their home deck with the inclusions of Jack Martin, Callum Ah Chee and Kade Kolodjashnij boosting the side significantly given their composure with Sherrin in hand.
After two narrow losses to Richmond and reigning premier Hawthorn in their last two outings, confidence within the playing group at Carrara is high as the SUNS aim to take home the four premiership points against a red-hot Saints outfit.
“We’re starting to get some numbers back and blokes that can use the footy,” coach Rodney Eade said in his Thursday media conference.
“I think the last two games there’s a lot of positives out of it.
“We had plenty of opportunities. We thought the way the players stuck to the plan was pleasing, their intent was terrific. We just turned the ball over a little bit too much going inside 50 and even shots at goal.
“But I think there was a lot to like out of last week and I think the confidence has grown out of the last two games. I think just getting some players back has helped the confidence as well.”
Trent McKenzie goes out of the side with a quad injury while Mitch Hallahan and Jarrad Grant have been omitted.
