The Gold Coast Football Club had its first victory for 2010 after the entire playing squad completed their Bronze Medallion following an intense eight-week training course.

Coach Guy McKenna and squad are now fully fledged lifesavers.

"Taking the environment and culture of the Gold Coast into account, it is essential for the players to obtain the skills of a surf lifesaver and long term they will be able to put back into the community by potentially doing patrols on the beaches," said McKenna.

The bronzed bods trained for the accomplishment at Kurrawa and kept plenty of the beach babes transfixed as they were put through their paces.

Who knows, if their budding AFL careers don't pan out the boys might be able to swap codes.
