The Gold Coast SUNS are excited to announce that Brayden Fiorini has extended his contract until the end of the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
Last week confirmed as a member of the club’s leadership group, at 22, Fiorini has played 47 games for the SUNS as he prepares for his fifth season in the AFL.
In making his decision, Fiorini said that a major influence was that the Gold Coast felt like home.
“We’ve been here for five years now and me and my partner Molly, really feel like the Gold Coast is home.
2019 was Brayden’s most consistent season to date, playing 21 games, but it was the want to work hard and improve from the entire playing group that was driving him ahead of the 2020 season.
“We’ve got a group, that are all committed to the club’s future as we’ve seen over the last 12 months”
“Everyone is really hungry and driven to improve and I can’t wait to help drive that in the next few years.”
General Manager Football Operations Jon Haines said that the extension of a number of its core playing group was a sign that the players believed the club was heading in the right direction.
“Brayden is highly respected amongst the playing and coaching group and we’re thrilled that he, along with almost 30 of the core playing group have committed their future to the Gold Coast SUNS.”
Fiorini’s extension comes off the back of the announcement earlier today that fellow leadership group member Sam Collins had committed his future to the club.
