Rising Gold Coast SUNS forward Kalinda Howarth has been voted by the fans as the Round 6 AFLW MVP of the Week.
The 20-year-old kicked four goals and collected 11 touches as the SUNS clinched their second victory for the season against the Eagles.
Howarth claimed 48 per cent of the votes ahead of North Melbourne’s Jasmine Garner (29 per cent) and the GWS Giants’ Alyce Parker (23 per cent).
Garner was instrumental in North Melbourne’s big win over Geelong, collecting 18 disposals and kicking three goals. The 25-year-old continued to push her All Australian case, adding six tackles and five inside 50s to her disposal tally.
Second-year Giant Parker was a standout in GWS’ history-making win against Adelaide, collecting a game-high 30 disposals, eight inside 50s and seven marks.
The AFL Players’ Association AFLW MVP of the Week is in its third year and looks to recognise the AFLW’s best performers each round. Fans have the opportunity to select the MVP of the Week, after three names have been put forward by the AFLPA.
All fans who voted are now in the running to win an Official Sherrin AFLW gameball, valued at $189.99. A new winner will be selected each week, so don’t forget to keep voting.
