Designed following lengthy discussion with the playing group and the team at 2XU, the new look Clash jumper importantly maintains its strong connection with the Gold Coast community with the golden sand of our iconic coastline accentuated on the Guernsey through the stronger use of blue, representative of the Queensland’s striking blue skies.
2XU Head designer Jamie Hunt said creating the GC SUNS Clash Guernsey was an extremely challenging and rewarding project.
“When working with the playing group on new materials and creating a better performance fit, the main feedback was that the Home strip is the clubs traditional Guernsey and that not a lot of change was needed.
There was also a belief amongst the group that the Away Guernsey projected a strong, image which through incorporation of the wave allowed the team to take a slice of the Gold Coast with the them each time they travel, however there was a definite feeling that the clash Guernsey needed a stronger block of colour in order to appropriately represent the Gold Coast.”
