St Kilda has one of its prime movers back in its line-up to take on the Gold Coast SUNS on Saturday at Metricon Stadium.

Last year’s Best and Fairest, Jack Steven, returns to the 22 in place of elevated rookie Cameron Shenton in the only change to the team that surprised Fremantle last start.

A foot injury kept Steven out for much of the pre-season while a thigh problem has kept him on the sidelines for the past few weeks.

He had one of his best games of the year with a 31-disposal effort against the GC SUNS in round 9 and coach Alan Richardson was stoked to have one of his best midfielders back in action.

“It’s good to have Jack back,” Richardson told saints.com.au.

“It’s been three weeks since he’s played and he just gives us real energy and drive. He’s a quality player and we are just pleased that he’s back in the team.”

Former Southport Shark Sam Gilbert also makes his return from injury this week, although he won’t be heading to Metricon Stadium for Saturday’s game.

The 27-year-old has been out of football since round three with a foot fracture and won’t be rushed back in to the senior team.
