Saturday’s clash against Collingwood is set to be jam-packed with only single reserved seats, standing room tickets and The Lounge corporate area remaining.
Ticket sales for the past month have been incredibly strong with reserved seat tickets nearly exhausted with the club releasing a limited number of standing room tickets on Wednesday which are now available through Ticketmaster.
GC SUNS GM – Marketing, Community and Fan Development, Kelly Ryan, said fans should get in quickly to snap up the remaining seats and standing room tickets still available.
“With limited single seats and standing room tickets available, it is important for fans to secure their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment,” Ryan said.
“Ticket sales spiked after our extraordinary win against Geelong last time we played at home, and as a result reserved seat tickets are close to being exhausted.”
Gold Coast SUNS CEO, Travis Auld, said the game will hold massive interest across the country with a large number of Collingwood fans heading from interstate for the clash.
“The Magpies always have a huge travelling contingent following them when they play on the Gold Coast, and at this stage we are expecting between 4-5,000 fans to come from interstate for the game,” Auld said.
“I think it shows how much our on-field performance has improved this season that we can be talking about breaking a crowd record that has stood since our first season in the AFL.
“The atmosphere when we beat Geelong last time we played at home was amazing, so I can only imagine what it’s going to be like if we get 23,000-plus fans in to Metricon Stadium.
GC SUNS members are urged not to leave their seat empty on Saturday and come out to Metricon Stadium and support the team in what will be a game for the record books.
