The footy world is heading to the Gold Coast this week for the 2014 AFL Draft, but they won’t spot Harley Bennell or Dion Prestia on the training track for the SUNS, with both players leaving the training track early on Monday morning.
General Manager – Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft, confirmed Prestia was the first casualty.
“Dion has injured his hamstring, he will have a scan later in the week where we will be able to determine the extent of the injury.”
Minutes later, a calf injury claimed Bennell.
“Harley left the track early with a tight calf, we will send him for precautionary scans, but we are confident he will only miss a few sessions,” Ashcroft said.
Earlier in the session, Bennell won a 2km time-trial, running a time of 6 minutes 40 seconds.
