Campbell Brown has been unsuccessful in clearing his name at the AFL Tribunal tonight.

Brown flew to Melbourne with GC SUNS General Manager Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft to challenge the charge.

However, Brown’s attempt fell on deaf ears, and as such the SUNS veteran will be sidelined for four matches.

Following the hearing, Brown told goldcoastfc.com.au that he was disappointed with the result.

“We are extremely disappointed, but we respect the tribunal's decision.

“I’m looking forward to another pre-season with the SUNS, there is a real buzz about our football club and with more hard work we will have some exciting times ahead,” Brown said.

Brown was originally charged with a level three misconduct offence (325 demerit points, three-match sanction) for misconduct in that he made unreasonable and unnecessary contact to the face of James Strauss.

As a result of unsuccessfully challenging the charge, Brown won’t be available for selection until Round 2 of the 2014 season.
