Dion Prestia heads the 2013 Gold Coast SUNS Club Champion tally after ten Rounds of Premiership action following his best-on-ground performance against Geelong on Saturday night.

The bustling midfielder was superb against the Cats, finishing behind only Gary Ablett with a 29 disposals in a performance likely to see him receive plenty of attention from North Melbourne’s opposition taggers this weekend.

Gary Ablett wasn’t going to disappoint the 30,000 fans in attendance at Simonds Stadium, with the Club’s former favourite son setting the standard for his Gold Coast team mates, the skipper finishing  with a game-high 34 disposals and two goals including a certain Goal of the year contender.

Ablett earning four Club Championship points for his great performance.  

Rory Thompson has emerged as one of the club’s most valuable key position players in the absence of Nathan Bock, with the centre half-back dominating his personal dual with Geelong’s elite forward Tom Hawkins, the Cats star held to just two goals and nine disposals for the evening. Thompson earning three Club Champion points for his efforts.

Trent McKenzie continues to build momentum after his delayed start to 2013 and on Saturday the Cannon unloaded a number of long range bombs from across half-back, providing his fellow defenders with welcomed breathing space at times throughout the contest, the fan favourite earning two Club Champion points for his solid performance.
