The Gold Coast Football Club are working closely with the AFL Gold Coast Juniors to allocate to clubs permanent seating that is no longer required at Carrara due to the construction of the new stadium which is due for completion in 2011.

The seats have been removed from the Carrara stadium which has now been demolished and they now await their new homes at local suburban grounds around the Gold Coast.

Clubs were consulted from all over the Gold Coast on whether they could use the seats at no cost and interest has been strong.

Community Projects Officer Corey Bell said the response has been fantastic to date with 6 local clubs keen to take up the offer from the club and install them at their ground.

“ Providing the seats to the local clubs is a way the club can assist the local clubs with seating facilities they may not normally have the money. It will also enhance the experience of watching local level football throughout the Gold Coast which is a good thing” says Bell.

Clubs will begin to collect the seats from Mid January when clubs start back after Christmas and will hopefully be in place by April 2010 – when the Football season kicks off again.
