Less than 12 months after announcing its partnership with the Gold Coast SUNS, the Gold Coast Community Fund has this week celebrated raising over $100,000 in 2012, funding that will directly benefit the local Gold Coast Community.
The announcement was made as the Community fund announced the major winners of it’s Art Union raffle on the weekend, the draw conducted by Gold Coast Community Fund Chairman Simon Bennett with the assistance of Gold Coast SUNS star Karmichael Hunt.
It has been terrific this year to have the support of the Gold Coast SUNS through our partnership and in particular Karmichael Hunt who is our patron, to be there right throughout the year including drawing the winner on Saturday.
“With over $112,000 being raised and over 80 charities selling and therefore benefiting in this year’s raffle, it certainly has been a successful year”. Bennett said
The Gold Coast SUNS this year kicked off its inaugural partnership with the Gold Coast Community Fund, as the one nominated fund the Club would focus its collective support towards.
The Club have supported the Community Fund throughout 2012 with player appearances for beneficiary families of the fund, raising awareness of the fund, various collections at staff events and gold coin donations from member functions.
