Gold Coast SUNS midfielder David Swallow will miss Saturday night’s match against the Western Bulldogs in Darwin.

GC SUNS, General Manager – Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft this afternoon confirmed the news to goldcoastfc.com.au.

“David was forced from the field with a knee injury during the third term on Saturday.”

“While we are yet to determine the full extent of the injury, we can confirm that David will be unavailable for selection this weekend.”

Swallow’s knee injury comes on the back of a hip and ankle injuries that the former Number 1 Draft pick suffered during the GC SUNS Round 4 match against the Brisbane Lions and Round 6 game against the Dockers respectively.

Ashcroft said the GC SUNS would conduct further tests on Swallow to determine the degree of the injury.

Meanwhile, Charlie Dixon underwent surgery on Monday afternoon to repair a fractured cheekbone.

Dixon was taken to Hospital only moments after Swallow was subbed out of Saturday afternoon’s game.

The big man, who has recently returned to form, may miss up to six weeks.

goldcoastfc.com.au will provide updates on the injured duo when available.
