The Gold Coast SUNS will enter Thursday evening's Draft with just one solitary selection, pick 24, with the club already securing the services of three young talented players in the lead up to the Draft.

The GC SUNS signed Queenslanders Alex Sexton and Jackson Allen as zone selection players as well as signing boom youngster Jaeger O'Meara through the unique mini-Draft during exchange week.

While Sexton and Allen will be available for senior selection in 2012, GC SUNS fans will have to wait until 2013 before watching O'Meara at AFL level, with the teen sitting outside of the senior playing list as was too young to nominate for the 2012 Draft.

GC SUNS List Manager, Scott Clayton said the club had still spent a considerable time evaluating the playing pool despite only having one selection.

"Our selection will still be extremely vital for us going forward," Clayton said.

"We have a strong grasp on the talent pool and believe we will be in a position to select a really talented player with the selection."

The GC SUNS List Manger admitted that this years draft would be a lot different to last years draft held on the Gold Coast.

"Last year we were the centerpiece of the Draft, this year couldn't be more different having already selected the core of our playing list.

"We believe we have an elite young playing list and we were in the fortunate position of being able to add to it by pre-listing two Queenslanders in Sexton and Allen who we are really excited about," Clayton said.

Despite being pre-listed prior to the draft, Sexton and Allen's selection will be formalized on Thursday night, as will Alik Magin's elevation from the rookie list to the GC SUNS senior list.
