The Gold Coast SUNS have officially launched the White Christmas Charity Event, which will benefit 3000 of the most neediest Gold Coasters at Christmas time this year.

The annual White Christmas charity event is the only charitable event on the Gold Coast where organisers plan a frosty reception for their guests some of the Gold Coasts neediest citizens will benefit as the Gold Coast Bulletin, The Gold Coast SUNS, the Gold Coast Community Fund and Movie World combine to host the White Christmas spectacular.

Gold Coast SUNS players Jarrod Harbrow and Josh Toy were on hand yesterday with Gold Coast SUNS mascot to launch the event.

Harbrow said” The players really enjoyed last years community event and the playing group are already looking forward to contributing again to this years event”.

The night will include the Gold Coast SUNS players participating in a White Christmas Street parade with your favourite Movieworld characters and falling snow.

The players will be available to pose for photographs to sign autographs and enjoy the Christmas festivities with the thousands of participants that who will be attending the night.

The White Christmas spectacular will be held on Friday 9th December and tickets to the event will be distributed to the Gold Coast SUNS 10 nominated charities that fall under the Clubs 3 areas of social responsibility it supports being Youth Homeless, Domestic Violence and the North Gold Coast region.

And Gold Coaster can also play their part at Christmas time - by donating to the White Christmas Charity Fund which has also been launch this week and will run until Christmas Day.
Last year over $30,000 was raised and distributed to Gold Coast charities.



Proceeds from the fund will 100% distributed between Youth Homeless, Domestic Violence, North Gold Coast region charities and the Gold Coast Community Fund in 2011.

General Manager of Marketing and Community Kelly Ryan said “ As a Club this by far the biggest Community event the Gold Coast SUNS participate in each year.”

“Our players and staff look forward to be able to be directly involved in supporting the Gold Coast Community and putting smiles on the faces of the people who need it most at Christmas time”
