Steven May has become the latest player to re-sign with the Gold Coast SUNS.

May’s re-signing comes just a week after Harley Bennell extending his contract with the GC SUNS.

A developing key position player, May has spent time at both ends of the ground in his 11 game career.

The Northern Territory-raised youngster joined the GC SUNS as a priority zone selection after starring for the Top End at the Under-18 National Championships in 2010 where he earned All Australian selection.

May is currently in a match conditioning training phase as the GC SUNS try to fast track his return to the senior side.

Although disappointed that he won’t be representing the GC SUNS in Darwin on Saturday, May told goldcoastfc.com.au he was pleased to re-sign with the club.

“I would have loved to have been available to play in Darwin this weekend, but I am really excited to re-sign with the Gold Coast SUNS for a further two year’s.”

“The players are committed to creating success here on the Coast and we believe we are building something special.”

General Manager – Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft said May joined David Swallow, Harley Bennell, Sam Day, Tom Lynch, Brandon Matera, Jeremy Taylor, Luke Russell, Jaeger O’Meara and Alex Sexton on the Gold Coast SUNS list until the end of the 2014 season.

“We are really pleased that Steven has joined a growing list of players that are re-signing with the club,”

“The commitment of these players gives us great confidence that the players and their families believe in our program and are determined to deliver success for the Gold Coast Football Club and our fans,” Ashcroft said.
