Jeremy Sharp has been named to make his debut against St Kilda in Round 10 of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season on Thursday night.

Sharp becomes the fifth Gold Coast SUNS Player to make their debut for the club in 2020 following the AFL debuts of Matt Rowell, Noah Anderson, Connor Budarick and Izak Rankine.

“It’s a surreal feeling, it’s an absolute dream come true, I’ve always wanted to do it since I was a kid,” Sharp told SUNS Media.

“Now there is an opportunity in the squad, hopefully I can grab it with both hands and enjoy it.”

After speaking with Senior Coach Stuart Dew, Sharp said the message was pretty simple.

“Dewy said he’s just expecting me to play to my strengths, give good work rate and to just enjoy the experience.”

“I’m stoked with the opportunity he has given me.”

Sharp had the opportunity to tell his mum before the final training session on Wednesday night.

“She was beside herself and in tears, she was saying how it’s a dream come true for me and I’ve always wanted to do it, it was pretty special to hear her say that.”

Sharp was taken with pick 27 in the 2019 NAB AFL Draft and has been one of the standouts in recent scratch matches

Sharp will make his AFL debut on Thursday night against St Kilda at Metricon Stadium, the match will be broadcast on Channel 7 Nationally, Fox Footy and live streamed on Kayo and Telstra AFL Live Pass.
