The Gold Coast SUNS will have two players who are a test to play in the final game of the season against Hawthorn on Sunday.
Sean Lemmens copped a heavy cork to his right leg in the opening quarter of the match against Collingwood and SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said he would be assessed this week before a decision would be made on his availability for Round 18.
“Unfortunately Sean’s function wasn’t quite good enough to get him to return to play and perform the way he’d like to so he couldn’t come back on during the game.
“He’s pulled up ok, he’s still pretty sore so we need to put a fair bit of work into Sean this week and see how he goes for this weekend.”
Nick Holman also sustained an injury to his finger in the match and Bull said the club would consult with specialists before deciding on his fate for this weekend.
“Nick fractured his finger in the first quarter of the game as well,” Bull said.
“He played out the game and is seeing a specialist now and we’ll decide on the best course of action for Nick after consulting with him.”
