It was an off the cuff comment that came back to haunt North Melbourne President James Brayshaw.

“If the Gold Coast beat North Melbourne, I’ll happily ride the Slingshot and Vomatron rides in Surfers Paradise, after a big breakfast.”

15 points was the winning margin as the Gold Coast SUNS secured their fifth Premiership victory of the season in Round 11, and this week, Brayshaw who co-hosts Channel Nine’s “The Footy Show” arrived on the Gold Coast along with fellow panellist Billy Brownless to honour his on air promise.

“We lost to the Gold Coast so I’ve had to come up north and do the Slingshot and the Vomatron,” a reluctant Brayshaw told goldcoastfc.com.au

We think it might have been part of an elaborate set up, however after just managing to keep their breakfast down after completing the dare the first time, the shows producers informed the pair that they would need to repeat the effort, declaring there had been a camera malfunction on the first attempt.

A physically sick Brayshaw barely had enough stamina to gasp three words as he was unbuckled from the Slingshot.

“That was horrendous.”

To make matters worse Brownless surprised his co-host moments after he had been strapped in to the 45m high Vomatron, revealing AFL Champion and renowned prankster Warwick Caper as his stand-in replacement for the ride with the fast talking Capper doping his best to antagonise the restrained Kangaroos President as he was slung into the skies above Surfers Paradise.

Despite his torturous morning, Brayshaw fired one more shot at GC SUNS senior coach Guy McKenna before flying out from Coolangatta.

“You can take this back to Bluey McKenna, we will never lose to your tip of a mob again, as long we got have airs in our lungs,” said Brayshaw.

“That was truly horrendous.”
