Gold Coast SUNS key defender Steven May has been offered a two-match sanction for his bump on Brisbane Lions captain Tom Rockliff in Saturday night’s QClash at Metricon Stadium.
The incident occurred in the opening minutes of the game, with the Match Review Panel charging May with rough conduct. The MRP classified the incident as careless conduct with high impact to the head, drawing a three-match suspension. However, with an early guilty plea May can have the ban reduced to a couple of weeks.
The SUNS have until 11am on Tuesday to accept the Match Review Panel’s decision or to challenge the adjudication.
