The Streetsmarts SUNS Academy’s Under 18 boys’ Coates Talent League campaign reached new heights with a thumping 78-point win over the Oakleigh Chargers on Sunday.
The Academy led from start to finish, kicking four goals in every quarter of the second match of a Sunday’s double header at People First Stadium, recording its third strong win in as many matches.
Ten individual goal scorers hit the board for the Academy, led by bags of three apiece from Max Hudsonand Cooper Collins. The pair were among the SUNS’ best alongside Caleb Nancarrow (18 disposals, seven rebound 50s), Grady Turner, Luke Chapman and Harrison Gray.
Beau Addinsall also had the ball on a string, recording 35 disposals while Koby Coulson also hit the scoreboard to go with 30 touches.
In the earlier match, the Under 18 Girls’ squad fell to two-time defending premier Oakleigh by 21 points.
The Chargers took charge of the game in the second quarter, kicking four goals to one, building a lead that couldn’t be reined in.
Lily Moana, Georja Davies, Stephanie Aguinaldo, Alannah Welsh (22 disposals, two goals), Lilly-Ann Ryder, Rhianna Ingram (23 disposals, five marks) were among the best for the SUNS with Sunny Lappinalso notching 26 disposals to go with a goal.
The StreetSmarts SUNS Academy finish its Coates Talent League campaign this Sunday with a double header against the Northern Knights at Preston City Oval.
