Brandon Ellis picked up from where he left off in 2020, providing a young SUNS outfit with a mature head and incredible work-rate to record his best season in Gold Coast colours.
Collecting sixth in the 2021 SUNS Club Champion, Ellis has been one of the most consistent performers this season.
After a seamless transition to the SUNS lineup in 2020, Ellis continued his form throughout 2021.
Patrolling the wing for the majority of the season, Ellis’ ability to work up and down the ground provided the SUNS with a reliable option when transitioning through the middle of the ground.
Ellis’ impact was not just limited to on-field performance, his leadership and voice was an asset to the team.
Ellis managed 18 games in 2021, being hampered by a hamstring injury late in the season.
Game of the year
Despite being a consistent contributor all season, Ellis’s best game was in the Round 7 win over Collingwood.
He had 35 disposals but it was his defence and marking that stood out, taking 16 marks and laying five tackles in a complete performance.
