SUNS fans, it’s that time of the week again. It’s time to select our Tribal Performance Player of the Round from Sunday’s Round 9 fixture against Carlton.
Claudia Whitfort extended her purple patch of form winning plenty of the ball, and most importantly, doing plenty of damage with it. She finished with a team-high 19 touches as well as four clearances.
Down back, young defender Daisy D’Arcy was handed a task and completed it superbly. The 19-year-old went toe-to-toe with Carlton spearhead Darcy Vescio in one of the most intriguing battles on the field, regularly numbing Carlton attacks and rebounding the ball forward.
In her 30th AFLW match, Alison Drennan was as lethal as ever with the pill, bursting away from packs in trademark fashion, accruing 16 disposals and a game-high seven tackles in the process.
Jacqui Yorston also provided a cool, collected presence, particularly at half-forward as she finished with an equal team-high four inside 50s.
