Captain Steven May and Gary Ablett have been named in AFL.com.au’s Team of the Week after stellar performances in Gold Coast’s win over Hawthorn.
Continuing his run of outstanding form, Ablett’s round 12 performance included 37 disposals, 10 tackles and eight clearances.
The Little Master gained a total of 578m alongside his two goals and 11 scow involvements, highlighting his massive impact on the contest.
Ablett is joined in the team by May, who marshalled the backline and led the SUNS to just their third win at the MCG.
The key defender was continually able to drop off his man and provide rebound from defence as he gathered 24 disposals, eight intercept possessions and 13 marks.
