There’s an update on three Gold Coast SUNS AFLW players in a pre-season Qscan Injury Update, including Mackay product and SUNS top draft pick Alana Gee.
“Alana is working through a stress reaction in her lumber spine which has seen her placed on a modified training program,” SUNS AFLW Physiotherapist Indianna Franke said.
“We’ll monitor her progression closely before making a decision on her availability.”
Key defender Jade Pregelj is continuing her recovery from an ACL injury suffered earlier in 2022 and will remain on the inactive list for AFLW Season 7.
New recruit Krystal Scott is currently sidelined following off-season ankle surgery but will resume full duties before August’s season opener.
“Krystal is working well through her recovery and is expected to be available for selection in Round 1,” Franke added.
The SUNS open their AFLW campaign on August 27 against North Melbourne at Blundstone Arena in Hobart.
