Several reserves players have put their hand up for senior selection after the NEAFL team’s 24-point win over the Giants.
Key defender Henry Schade was among the best, finishing with 22 disposals, 11 marks and nine rebound 50s and the Tasmanian provides the option of added height in defence for what is an undersized backline missing its two key posts.
Terriers Brandon Matera, Darcy Macpherson and Jarrod Garlett all had good games in the reserves.
Matera had 28 disposals, eight marks, nine inside 50s and 2.3 while Macpherson finished with 33 disposals, 12 clearances and five inside 50s. West Australian Garlett booted a team-high three goals to go with 18 touches.
Ruckman Tom Nicholls won the ruck battle in Townsville with 16 disposals, seven tackles and 33 hitouts while hard-nosed Danny Stanley impressed the coaching staff with his work around the stoppages.
