The Gold Coast SUNS have secured a trade with Geelong which will see Jack Bowes depart the club.
The SUNS have also sent pick 7 to Geelong in exchange for the Cats’ future third-round pick in return.
GC SUNS General Manager of Player Talent and Strategy Craig Cameron thanked Bowes for his contribution to the club and said the move would benefit all parties involved.
“Jack has had limited opportunities at AFL level behind our incumbent midfielders, so both Jack and the club agreed it would be in his best interests to explore further playing opportunities elsewhere,” Cameron said.
“Jack has been a great clubman for the SUNS and we wish him well in the next phase of his career at Geelong.
“A key component of our strategy this trade period was to pre-emptively position our list to attack the next phase of building our team, allowing us to be aggressive in future trade periods.”
Bowes, 24, has played 83 games for the club since being drafted with pick 10 in the 2016 National Draft.
Gold Coast has acquired the services of Ben Long and Tom Berry so far in the Continental Tyres Trade Period, while Bowes joins Josh Corbett and Izak Rankine in departing the club.
