Defending Club Champion Alison Drennan has rounded out another impressive AFLW season as Runner-Up in the 2022 SUNS AFLW Club Champion.

It’s the third successive top-two finish for Drennan, after taking out her inaugural Club Champion in Season Six following a second-place finish the season prior.

Taking out another title at the pre-season 2km time trial set the tone for a consistent season from the 31-year-old, finishing only behind Charlie Rowbottom for total disposals and tackles whilst finishing second in the club for score involvements.

Drennan appeared in all 10 games in her fifth AFLW season – her third on the Gold Coast – providing experience to an up-and-coming SUNS midfield containing the likes of Rowbottom, Claudia Whitfort and Ellie Hampson.

She was pivotal in providing her forwards opportunities to hit the scoreboard, ranking amongst the competition leaders for disposals and Inside 50s.

Drennan also became a three-time winner of the AFL Players Association MVP of the Week award with a 24-disposal outing to go with nine tackles and a goal in Round 1.
