The Gold Coast SUNS VFL side have secured a top-two finish after a 68-point belting against the Sydney Swans on Saturday morning.
Ruckman, Ned Moyle says that a four-quarter performance was what the team had been chasing for the past couple of months.
“The weekend was a really good four-quarter performance,” Moyle said.
“We won every quarter on the weekend which is really pleasing to be consistent over a whole game.
“We have been striving towards that for the last couple of months.”
Moyle and co are looking to better their efforts of last season which saw them eliminated in the Preliminary Final.
“Going out in the prelim (Preliminary Final) last year was a bit disappointing.
“We are going to be playing a home final to start with in the qualifier (Qualifying Final).
“We have given ourselves a really good chance this year to go one step further,” Moyle added.
Moyle, the VFL Ruckman of the Year last season, is confident that the current group has what it takes to go all the way.
“We are a pretty tight knit and comfortable group,” he said.
“We know our footy stacks up against these really strong VFL sides.”
The SUNS VFL will kick start a double-header against Carlton in the final home and away game of the VFL season at Heritage Bank Stadium before the SUNS and Blues battle each other at AFL level.
Early gates open at 10:15am with entry available through Gate 3.
