The Gold Coast SUNS will be without midfielders Daisy D’Arcy and Lucy Single for Saturday’s Week 10 fixture against North Melbourne.
D’Arcy was sent for scans on her knee after leaving the ground during the second quarter of last weekend’s match against the Power, with results confirming the 21-year-old has suffered a ruptured ACL.
“Unfortunately, Daisy has suffered a ruptured ACL in her right knee. We will consult with specialists in the coming days and work through a plan on next steps,” Gold Coast SUNS AFLW Physiotherapist Jasmine Herlihy said.
Gold Coast SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago said, “It’s disappointing news for Daisy who has been part of our club for many years now, firstly through the Academy and now in our AFLW program. What’s important is we continue to provide her all the support she needs throughout her rehabilitation and we’re looking forward to seeing her return stronger than ever.”
The SUNS have also decided to take a conservative approach with Single who will again not be available for selection in Week 10 with concussion.
