The 22Under22 team is a fan-voted concept that recognises the 22 nest players aged 22 and under.
Young guns Charlie Rowbottom, Lucy Single and Daisy D’Arcy have all been named in the extended 44-player squad, which was announced on Wednesday.
Rowbottom has firmed her position as one of the AFLW’s most dominant midfielders, leading the league for both contested possessions and clearances.
Single ranked 7th in the AFLW for contested possessions in 2024 (13.8 avg) with both players finishing inside the league’s top 10 for tackles (Rowbottom 7.9 avg, Single 7.6 avg).
D’Arcy added yet another string to her bow in 2024, earning the chance to put her deadly left foot to use in midfield as well as across half-back, once again leading the SUNS in rebound 50s and metres gained.
Rowbottom and Single are in contention for selection in the 22Under22 team as midfielders, while D’Arcy is in contention as a defender.
Rowbottom is eyeing a fourth consecutive selection with D’Arcy in the mix for her second straight berth. Selection would be a career first for Single.
Voting is open until 11pm AEST on Wednesday, November 13 with the final team to be announced on November 20.
