Charlie Rowbottom’s second All-Australian blazer was the SUNS’ highlight on the AFLW’s night of nights in Melbourne on Monday.
The 21-year-old followed up her selection in the side with a career-high nine votes in the AFLW Best & Fairest count as one of four SUNS to poll throughout 2024.
Rowbottom received two best-on-ground nods from the umpires in Round 3 – 42 disposals, 26 contested possessions and 14 clearances – and the Round 8 win over the Sydney Swans.
Lucy Single received three votes in the narrow Round 2 defeat against Carlton in which she recorded 22 disposals, six tackles and four clearances.
Niamh McLaughlin polled four votes across three separate matches while Claudia Whitfort received two votes in her 50th AFLW game in Round 8.
