The Gold Coast SUNS have confirmed a trade with Carlton that will see forward Tara Bohanna depart the club.
In exchange, The SUNS receive Pick 41 ahead of this year’s Telstra AFLW Draft whilst also sending Pick 56 to the Blues.
Bohanna departs as the club’s longest-serving captain having this year become the first player to lead the side in three AFLW seasons.
During her four seasons on the Gold Coast, Bohanna won the club’s Leading Goalkicker award on three occasions, kicking 45 goals in 42 games.
She was appointed captain ahead of Season Seven in 2022 before also leading the SUNS throughout the 2023 and 2024 campaigns.
GC SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago said, “Over the last four seasons, Tara has made an impact on our football club.
"Her dedication both on and off the field, along with her commitment to maintaining high standards and supporting her teammates, played a key role in our successes during her time here.”
“She will always be remembered as one of the players to have captained our club, and we wish her all the best in the next chapter of her career.”
