Gold Coast SUNS draftee Leo Lombard will be unavailable for the beginning of the 2025 season after suffering a shoulder injury during Thursday night’s match simulation.
Lombard was taken from the ground during the second match of the night against the Brisbane Lions and went for scans on Friday.
SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Qscan Injury Update Lombard would see a specialist this week to determine if surgery would be required.
“After receiving the scan results, Leo will consult with a specialist this week to determine the best course of action for his injury,” Bull said.
“We will prioritise Leo’s long-term health so expect he will miss some time as he rehabilitates his shoulder, with a timeline to be determined in due course.”
A full Qscan Injury Update will be available next week ahead of Opening Round.
