It was a sensational start to the SUNS’ fearless campaign with a club record-breaking performance in an 87-point win over the West Coast Eagles.
Leaders Noah Anderson, Touk Miller and Matt Rowell stood out on the Western Australian turf leading with their actions. The SUNS captain finished the game with the most disposals (36) and metres gained (713) whilst vice-captain Miller (26 disposals, 10 clearances) nailed two goals and Rowell’s outstanding performance (30 disposals, 10 clearances) kept the game in the SUNS forward half.
Defending leading goal kicker, Ben King launched the season with a career-record of six goals and two contested marks.
He was supported by fellow forward and Indigenous All- Star, Ben Long, who booted four goals from five marks.
Prized recruit, Daniel Rioli, kicked off his SUNS career with two goals and 21 disposals.
2023 StreetsSmart SUNS Academy Graduates, Ethan Read, Jake Rogers and Will Graham, were immense across the forward half. Read opened the game scoring two goals, 2024 Rising Star nominee Rogers booted three and Graham tallied seven tackles and a goal.
Jarrod Witts, made an impact right across the field amassing 68 hitouts, five clearances and four tackles.
