Captain Noah Anderson led the charge as one of seven SUNS players to receive coaches votes from Saturday's dominant Gather Round win in the Barossa.

Anderson fired into the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year top three with a near-perfect nine votes from the win over the Roos, with midfield counterparts Matt Rowell and Touk Miller also receiving seven and three votes apiece.

Anderson's season tally is up to 25 votes, trailing Brisbane's Hugh McCluggage and level with GWS' Toby Greene, closely followed by Rowell with 22 through four games.

Ben Long's three goals and ever presence in the forward line saw him earn six votes from the coaches while John Noble (three) and Joel Jeffrey's (one) eye-catching performances dashing off half-back saw the pair receive votes as well.

Ben King's five goals, which takes him to 201 goals on the eve of his 100th AFL game, saw him earn a spot among the votes as well.
