Junior players were greeted by the Gold Coast Football Club on the weekend, as the squad lent a hand with the annual junior sign-on day.
In an exciting first for the club, players ventured into the Gold Coast community to assist volunteers sign on juniors while at the same time update fans on some of the exciting developments within the club.
Community Programs Officer Corey Bell said the Gold Coast Football Club has a long term goal to support AFL in the community.
“Interest in AFL is continuing to grow at a record rate on the Gold Coast. Club volunteers, club coaches and game development staff work very hard promoting and coordinating the game of AFL at a grass roots level and if the GCFC can assist their great work in any way, then its time well spent!
“These young players genuinely enjoy encouraging the next generation to participate in AFL which was evident over the weekend.”
GCFC players were on hand throughout the day to also sign autographs and give away posters to budding youngsters who took part.
