Ellie Hampson has won the 2019 Academy Player of the Year Award after a standout year with the Gold Coast SUNS.
In February Hampson was announced as one of three inaugural SUNS AFLW signings for 2020.
The Townsville product then went on to represent the SUNS in the QW Winter Series for two matches where she impressed with her attack on the football.

Hampson represented Queensland in the NAB AFLW Under 18 National Championships, playing on the ball and off half-back across the two rounds of the competition.
She averaged 18.4 disposals, 3.2 rebound 50s and 3.2 tackles in that tournament.
Her outstanding performances saw her awarded Queensland’s MVP for the Championships and also named in the All Australian team off half-back.
