David Swallow’s impressive performance on Saturday night has been rewarded with AFL Coaches’ votes and an AFL Team of the Week nomination.
Swallow was named on the interchange in the Team of the Week after recording 29 disposals and kicking a goal for the SUNS against Geelong.
The Gold Coast skipper led from the front and worked hard in the midfield, finishing with a game-high 13 clearances.
His never-say-die attitude saw him poll six coaches’ votes.
Meanwhile Lachie Weller also received a vote after collecting 27 disposals and nine rebound 50’s.
Geelong’s Tim Kelly and Tom Hawkins polled the most votes from the game (9), while Gary Ablett (2), Mitch Duncan (2) and Cameron Guthrie (1) were also recognised for their efforts.
Every round, the AFL coaches vote for the best players from their game. The coaches vote for five players, giving them a mark from 1-5. The maximum a player can score is 10 (with five votes from both coaches).
