Pearce Hanley and Aaron Hall are near certainties to return to the SUNS line-up ahead of Round 17, while Gary Ablett is listed as a test.
The superstar midfielder missed the side’s match against Sydney last Saturday with a hamstring injury.
Ablett will need to get through training this week before being declared fit to take on Collingwood at Metricon Stadium.
GM – Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft confirmed Ablett’s status in this week’s Optomo Injury Report.
“Gary is progressing well; he was a late withdrawal last Thursday (however) progressing well this week,” he said.
“But he will need to be tested on Thursday to ensure his hamstring his 100%.”
“If he gets through training session okay then he should line up on Saturday afternoon.”
Meanwhile, the SUNS will be bolstered by the return of Hanley and Hall, with Ashcroft labeling the duo near certainties to return.
“Pearce is right to go, he narrowly missed last weekend but has done a lot of training over the weekend,” he said.
“[He] trained last night, and again today, so you expect him to play on Saturday afternoon”.
“[Hall] was close last weekend but wasn’t risked, but again he’s done a lot of work over the last four to five days.
“Will train Thursday with a view to play on Saturday as well.”
Brandon Matera will remain listed as a test this week, while Kade Kolodjashnij will be restricted, with the club taking a conservative approach to the sweeping half-backs recovery from concussion.
