Heading into Saturday’s clash against the Gold Coast, North Melbourne coach Brad Scott maintains that the team’s confidence has not taken a hit.
“As a coach you’re trying to show them the way forward and the way out. But to be perfectly honest the players are really buoyant” he told the media in a press conference on Thursday.
“Morale’s not an issue, but if the losses keep mounting up they will be. So we’ve got to do something about it.”
On the topic of facing the SUNS this week, Scott identified the level of talent around the ball as a key factor.
“They’re a talented side and when they get the game on their terms they’re really effective.
“We’ve seen probably both sides of that where they’ve had the run of play going against them and when they’re able to get the momentum going their way they’re a pretty formidable force” he said.
North Melbourne’s injury list contained a couple of big names, with captain Jack Ziebell and All Australian ruckman Todd Goldstein listed as tests.
Scott was optimistic that they would be available, however will be taking a ‘wait and see’ approach before Saturday’s game.
