SPEARHEAD Charlie Dixon is a star on the rise, according to veteran AFL scribe Mark Robinson.

Speaking on FOX FOOTY’s AFL 360, Robinson had nothing but praise for the ruck-forward who came of age against the GWS Giants in the side’s 44-point win at StarTrack Oval on Saturday.

“He was just so dominate, and people can say it was only against GWS but I don’t care – I judge it as a player who standing up when the club needed him to and kicked 6 goals and 9 marks with 4 of them being contested.”

Co-host Gerald Whatley described Dixon’s emergence in the competition as the “piece to the puzzle” for the GC SUNS, while Robinson was beginning to see a pattern forming in the wake of Dixon’s promising start to the 2013 AFL Season.

“He just seemed to be the dominate big-man on the ground and that now makes it 3 out of 5 really good games for Charlie Dixon, and player’s like him doing that mean’s one thing – the Gold Coast are going to improve their win-loss (record) this season.”
