Since returning to the Gold Coast for the Club’s 2014 pre-season, Prestia has been in supreme conditioning, turning in impressive efforts on the training track with the hard-working midfielder often seen setting the pace at the front of the pack.
By his own admission, Prestia is flying in comparison to previous pre-seasons.
“It’s definitely the best I have been running,” he said.
“I set a new personal best in the 2km time trial when I got back (from Arizona), so it’s all helping me out so far.”
Alongside housemate Jeremy Taylor, the two Gold Coasters have been impressing high performance staff with their long distance showdowns, with their last battle decided by less than a fraction of a second.
Although playing 20 of the GC SUNS 22 matches this year, Prestia overcome hamstring issues stemming back to 2012 at the start of the season.
Prestia is hopeful his latest tour of Arizona, and an injury free pre-season, will help him build on his breakthrough 2013 campaign.
“Obviously, I want to stay injury free. This was the first year I’ve done everything in Arizona so I’m off to a good start.
“I’m just trying to stay on the track as best as I can.
“I played most games last year but still had a few niggles here and there, so that is my main goal heading into this pre-season.”
