SUNS winger Tiarna Ernst has taken out the Most Professional award, presented by Griffith University, at Gold Coast’s 2020 AFLW Club Champion.

The award honours the player who shows the most commitment to their role as an elite athlete both on and off the field.

AFLW staff across all departments (medical, high performance, analysis etc.) were given the opportunity to nominate which player they thought most embodied the Most Professional award.

Votes were cast on a 3, 2, 1 basis with Ernst winning the poll.

It’s been a busy season for the 32-year-old who also juggled full-time work as a doctor in obstetrics and gynaecology between her football commitments.

Inducted into the SUNS’ inaugural leadership group, Ernst was one to continually set high standards for her teammates.

She played seven games in 2020, averaging eight disposals and two tackles per game.
