Rory Thompson has been ruled out of Sunday's match against the Western Bulldogs at Metricon Stadium with a wrist injury. 

Thompson has been replaced in the 22 man squad by Alex Sexton, with defender Tom Murphy taking Sexton's place as an emergency. 

Thompson has wrestled with the injury throughout the week, and following training on Saturday the SUNS notified the AFL and the Western Bulldogs of the late change. 

"Rory has been hampered by the wrist complaint during the week, and unfortunately he won't be able to take his place in the side this weekend," General Manager - Football Operations Marcus Ashcroft told goldcoastfc.com.au

"We are hopeful he will be fit to play against Adelaide next week," Ashcroft said.
