Jarrod Harbrow has dismissed concerns that Port Adelaide senior coach Ken Hinkley’s experience at the Gold Coast SUNS will be a factor in Saturday night’s match at Metricon Stadium.

Prior to the GC SUNS beach recovery session at Kurrawa this morning, Harbrow said Hinkley’s knowledge of the club’s inner sanctum would not necessarily result in the Guy McKenna’s former senior assistant coach gaining a competitive advantage leading into Saturday night.

“He probably knows a little bit on how we play, but we’ve also got Matthew Primus (Hinkley’s predecessor) and he’s changed our structures to a different style than Kenny would know, so I don’t think he’ll have a massive advantage,” said Harbrow.

But with the Power surging to the top ranks of the AFL ladder (2nd) after their impressive start to the season, Harbrow said a win over the in-form Port Adelaide would give the player’s a massive boast of confidence if they could hand the Power their first loss for the 2013 AFL Season.

“They’re travelling really well, obviously Kenny (Hinkley) has got them firing and he’s certainly turned their club around,” said Harbrow.

“But our form isn’t too bad either… we’ve had lapses at different stages so we’ll definitely have to start well against them because they’re red hot at the moment.”

Backline leader Tom Murphy is confident the GC SUNS defensive structures can halt the Power’s recent surge at goals, with the interstate side scoring over 100plus in each of their three premiership matches so far this season.

“They’re like every other team now – the competition is actually pretty even,” said Murphy.

“They’ve got to come up here to our home ground so we’ll definitely be looking to put in a good show and knock them off, that’s for sure.”
