Gary Ablett heads the 2013 Gold Coast SUNS Club Champion tally for a consecutive week, after his best-on-ground performance against the Western Bulldogs in the side’s convincing 32-point victory at Metricon Stadium.

The captain was his usual-best for the afternoon, finishing with an equal game-high 31 disposals as he lifted the SUNS to their first successive victories club history.

Rory Thompson continues to show genuine signs he’s ready to make the jump into the competition’s elite class of defenders, with the defensive anchor all but keeping the Bulldog’s no.1 forward Liam Jones from having any influence in attack… the key position player earning four Club Championship points for his stand-out performance.

Jaeger O’Meara showed experience and maturity beyond his years in just his eight AFL appearance for his career, as the elite teenager finished with 25 disposals and a performance that is sure to see him gain more attention for the NAB Rising Star Award.  

Dion Prestia found his way into the Club Championship countdown for a second week, with the pocket rocket finishing with 22 disposals and a game-high 6 clearances for the afternoon… the lively midfielder earning two club championship points for his stellar performance.
