Gold Coast SUNS cameraman, editor Ben Jaensch has once again been recognised as the regions premier videographer with the 23-year-old claiming his third successive South East Queensland Media award on the weekend.
Jaensch who arrived at the Gold Coast SUNS three years ago held off a strong field of broadcast camera operators to claim the “Best Television News Camera Work” category at the 2013 Maccas Regional Media awards.
Bens entry entitled Swimming and Football focussed on the sporting journey of Gold Coast SUNS player Jack Hutchins who turned his back on a promising career as an elite swimmer to pursue his AFL dream with the Gold Coast SUNS.
It was one of 23 player features the Club produced in 2013.
General Manager of Communications and Content Jason Sintome praised Ben for his achievement.
“To win this award for a third consecutive year, when you consider the calibre of the not only the finalists, but everyone who entered the Maccas is a fantastic achievement and deserved recognition for Ben who absolutely immerses himself in his craft,” Sintome said.
“The Gold Coast SUNS pride themselves on providing members and supporters of the Club with the very best video and creative content and to have these efforts recognised by the broader media industry is something the entire club is very proud of.”
